Conference/UNAM/NonStandardGeometry
Conference organized by Jose Alvarez and Ayline Tarlan
This year’s Symposium, ‘Non-Standard GEOMETRY’, will take place on April 2008 in Mexico City. The conference is supported by a consortium of some of Mexico City’s leading universities including: UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico), the UAS (Universidad Anahuac Mexico Sur), and the ULSA (Universidad La Salle).
This year’s theme: ‘Non-Standard GEOMETRY’, is a timely one and conceived to attract the interest of Mexican faculty, students and young professionals who represent diverse positions within the discipline of Architecture.
In addition to its appeal to a professional and academic audience, the conference will also be of great interest to the growing number of laymen interested in Contemporary Architectural thought.
The event is produced and curated by node, an architectural firm with offices in New York, Istanbul and Mexico City. node works to advance Avant-Garde Architectural Research and to promote its global impact. It is node’s intent, through the Annual Symposium, to bring the world’s most compelling architectural thinkers together in Mexico City. This year participants will be invited to discuss the origins and development of the potentialities of Geometry within Architecture and Architectural Research.
